Hornepayne is a small Northern community of 1000 people.
Developed with the building of the main cross Canada CN rail line over 100 years ago, Hornepayne still relies on the railroad as the major employer in town. The lumber and tourist industry are also contributors to the economy of the area. Due to its remote location, Hornepayne has a long history as a outdoor enthusiasts starting point to explore and experience all the northern bush has to offer.
Nagagami Lake located approx. 25 air miles NW of Hornepayne is a large fly in only remote tourism lake teeming with fish. Nagagami covers an area of 13,000 acres with the ‘Buck’ and Foch rivers flowing into the lake and the Nagagami river flowing out into the Albany River watershed to the north. The endless variety of structure , very healthy ecosystem,limited pressure and conservation practices ensure an incredible fishing experience.
